This unforgettable wedding at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, California will leave you absolutely speechless. I mean, I still can not get it out of my head! Everything about Oriana and Ryota’s wedding was full of love and magic.
The entire week leading up to their unforgettable wedding, everyone included in their wedding was expecting and anticipating rain. I can’t speak for the others, but I was checking the weather every single day.
We knew that the only thing to do was prepare! Ultimately, we all remembered that it is actually good luck if it rains on your wedding day. Coming to this realization made everyone feel so much better. We all helped the couple prepare! We asked them to buy bubble umbrellas and came up with a plan b just in case the ran was too much.
To our surprise, we woke up to cloudy skies and a very light drizzle! It was a breath of fresh air, and we were feeling hopeful.
We started the day getting ready at Oriana’s childhood home. It is a beautiful house in San Francisco. Because I am also an SF native, I have always held a special place in my heart for these couples! More often than not, they turn into my favorite weddings!
A lot of their family over to celebrate beforehand and participate in the traditional tea ceremony. For more information on these types of tea ceremonies, check out my previous blog where I talk about them more in detail!
When Oriana stepped downstairs to get ready for her first look, the whole crowd was cheering for her! Having supportive family and friends has the power to make your wedding truly remarkable.
They did their first look at the house. From the moment Ryota saw her, you could sense the true love they share. He looked at her with the kindest eyes. This moment, before their actual Legion of Honor Wedding, was truly incredible. It reminded me how lucky I am to be truly living my dream. A dream where I am able to capture couples’ happiest and most intimate moments — their fairytales.
We made our way to the Legion of Honor and began taking their wedding portraits just as the rain turned more into a drizzle. The rain wasn’t too bad at this point so I continued to capture their photos. As the weather began to clear up, I grabbed some shots with the beautiful legion in the background.
Although everyone was still a bit worried about the rain, the decision was made to still hold the ceremony outdoors. All I have to say is that it was totally worth it! With the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, it was truly unforgettable.
After their ceremony, we headed to Sutro Baths/Lands End to score some dreamy sunset shots. I was truly game for anything, but I was SO happy that the weather cleared up. Shooting after the rain is simply amazing.
The rest of the night will truly go down in history.
